Here is a ribbon holder that I made for someone we will call Valerie because...well that's her name ;) She asked me to make her a ribbon holder for both her larger and smaller rolls of ribbon with a couple of shelves on the top for small jars and other things. Valerie also asked me to dress it up with some scallops because she" loves scallops" and for it to be able to be hung on the wall. I think it really does give it that little something extra don't you?
Valerie likes it so much she has now asked me to make her a matching ink pad holder with a few extras to go next to it. It is always great to know that a customer is happy with my work. Thanks Valerie. You Rock!
This person asked me to make her a ribbon holder with a shelf on the top so she can make the most of her space and some small cubbies on the bottom so she can store her different color pens and or makers. She also asked me to make it to be hung on the wall. This is the picture she sent to me of it up and ready to go with a good start of filling it. Thanks again Sandy. I'm glad you like it.
My son decided he wanted to make a nightstand for his sister's birthday. He kind of told me the general set up he was thinking of and I went from there. If you ask him he will tell you that he practically did it by himself. He did if that means playing with the stuff in the garage while I added the ideas of the feet, rounded edges and the top and bottom a little bigger than the main body.
Every time I asked him if he wanted to do different parts along the way he told me to do it because he was worried he would mess it up (he really wanted his sister to be happy) so I pretty much made the whole thing. I did make sure that he did the last of the sanding and all of the painting so that he could say that he helped make it. At the end of the whole thing my daughter loved it and that is what mattered.
I almost forgot to post pictures of my last creation...OK so I did forget but here they are anyway.
This person asked me to make her a ribbon holder without the notches. The notches are normally there so you can take a whole row off at a time in order to have the ribbon close by you while you are working on a project, easily change rolls on the bar etc. This person didn't need them because she is putting the holder right on her desk and feels that she would not use this option much. Because of this I made holes all of the way down in order to give her the option to place the rows wherever she chooses. She also asked me to round the edges and paint it an off white color.
Tell me what you think.
I was away for a little while because I hurt my knee. I am now back and ready to go! I have still been working on someones ribbon holder and now I am almost finished. She asked me to make all of the edges rounded and not notch out for the duals to slide forward individually because she wanted it to have a more clean cut look to it. If you do not need the option to take a whole row off at a time this way does look quite nice. She has also decided on an off white for the color and since this is all about being custom work that is what it will be.
I will try to post pictures soon
Hope everyone has a great holiday!
I am almost finished with my latest creation for one of my customers. I made the corners more like that of a picture frame and I really like how clean it looks!
I would really like to do a mixture of ribbon holder and some shelves for a little variety. Maybe even some side by side. I have thought of just making some different styles and putting them up for sale. I am not sure because as much as I enjoy creating and making things I don't want them to sit around because they might not be the dimensions you are looking for. Why don't you guys give me some measurements you would want so I can get an idea.
What do you think?
Hello and welcome to "Jeff's Creations". I started out making things for my beautiful wife Cynthia. One of the items that I created was her ribbon holder. She had many different types and colors of ribbon and wanted a way to have it all in one area and yet to be able to see every one on display at the same time. This would enable her to have all of her options to chose from in plain view. I had already converted one of our rooms in the house into a dedicated scrap-booking/craft-room and was itching to modify it so I came up with this. It really is hung level. The wall next to it isn't though.
After my wife displayed it on her blog people started asking if I would be willing to start making and selling them. Because of the response that she received I have decided to do just that. This blog will be dedicated strictly to it. I can make many different variations of this. I can change the height, the width, the color, mix and match with ribbons and shelves, top and bottom, side by side, for the wall, for your desk etc. Just contact me and we can design one for your specific needs. They can be shipped to wherever you want as well.
Thank you for visiting my site and I hope to hear from you.
